forte_forte “handmade in Madagascar”
forte_forte presents a capsule of jewelry and accessories born in collaboration with the local communities of Madagascar, in the villages around Antananarivo, focused on the craftsmanship and the uniqueness of materials and processes that this wonderful country can offer.
Necklaces in soy sauvage, a precious silk obtained by processing the cocoon of the nephila spider, are enriched by an interweaving of lurex threads and natural stones and pearls such as jasper, labradorite, fluorite, turmaline, quartz and amethyst.
Details in zebu horn, coming from controlled farms and a very important source of sustenance for the Malagasy society, illuminate necklaces, bracelets and earrings thanks to the great chromatic variety obtained through a long and laborious working process.
Shoulder bags, clutches and belts made of a special raffia obtained from an autochthonous plant (raphia farinfera) that grows spontaneously along rivers and swamps, worked in a crochet or loom, using a technique called rabanne.
All the products, made in small ateliers in the peripheral area of Antananarivo, have the aim of employing socially disadvantaged people and are created with respect for local craftsmanship, following a manufacturing tradition that is passed on from generation to generation.
Each package that contains an accessory of the “handmade in madagascar” capsule contains an embroidery with the name of the person who made it, as a tribute to the passion and commitment dedicated to the creation of each individual piece.
