Run baby run: Nikelab Gyakusou

For over six years, Nike and Jun Takahashi, founder of Undercover brand, worked together to redefine the racing clothing. Each collection of NikeLab Gyakusou is an evolution that combines the innovative power of Nike with the creativity of Takahashi. “I have always strongly desired to express my feelings through the garments. I think to make the exercise of the increasingly comfortable daily run” said Takahashi. “Gyakusou literally means ‘run to the contrary’, which I do at the park. It represents my rebellious spirit, a little punk. I not always have a goal to race with that train, but the race has become a regular feature of my daily life, just like many others”. The new collection allows people to diligently continue in the run, even during the severe winter days. The collaboration makes a use of the most innovative technologies, AeroReact and Aeroloft and for the first time in a collection Nike – the Quickburst®zip. All garments reflect the design philosophy of Nike transformation, with pieces designed to be easily reinvented, changing functions without interrupting the athlete’s pace. The aesthetics of Takahashi, lit by unexpected colors, characterizes the whole collection. Takahashi says, “From the beginning, I created for Gyakusou a palette that would integrate both with the urban panorama and the natural landscape, all using neutral tones. I deliberately insert soft colors and traditional ones of Japan. Just this season I decided to introduce some color contrasts “.

The NikeLab Gyakusou collection will be available from November 10 on nike.com/nikelab and NikeLab shops.
