Gucci Epiphany Book at Pitti 2016    

L’era “Alessandro Michele” a Gucci continua con un esclusivo libro fotografico (foto di Ari Marcopoulos), il coffe-table book racconterà le collezioni pre-fall 2016, un’edizione limitata di 1000 copie che dopo la presentazione nel Dover Street Market di NY sarà presentato al museo Gucci a Firenze con un cocktail esclusivo in presenza dell’autore/fotografo che firmerà le copie per gli appassionati del mondo Gucci.

La confezione del libro è una bellissima busta viola iridescente con il serpente che ha caratterizzato le ultime uscite Gucci nel mondo degli accessori.

“Per sette giorni abbiamo fotografato la collezione di Michele. Col passare del tempo mi sentivo al contempo in un mondo a metà strada fra i tempi dell’antica Roma e il presente e il futuro” ha dichiarato Marcopoulos “soprattutto ci siamo divertiti da pazzi, di sicuro Dioniso avrebbe apprezzato!”.

Fascinated by Ari Marcopoulos’ authentic and neorealist style, Alessandro Michele tapped the Dutch-born photographer and filmmaker to bring his point-of-view to Gucci. Ari, who trained his lens with Andy Warhol and Irving Penn, has a gritty, snapshot style approach to portraiture.

His work is the subject of books and exhibits, he has shot Jean-Michel Basquiat and the Beastie Boys and created the cover art for Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta.” For “Epiphany,” Ari worked in a Pompeian style interior, replete with decorated walls, antique furniture and live owls, love birds and parrots, capturing Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection on film. Published in collaboration by IDEA Books in London, the book reveals Ari’s black-and-white imagery on soft matte paper and colored shots on glossy stock. Bound in a pink cover featuring a pocket with one of 13 original photos from the shoot, the limited edition book will be produced in 1000 copies.

The book called “Epiphany” will be presented at Museo Gucci (during Pitti Uomo 2016) with an exclusive cocktail, Ari Marcopoulos will be signing copies to all the Gucci fanatics.
