La tavolozza per questaChanel Cruise Collection si ispira alle vivaci facciate barocche del centro storico dell’ Havana: giallo, rosa, arancio, turchese, verde con effetti luminosi donati dalle paillettes e dai ricami nei mini abiti. La stessa affermazione cromatica vale per gli abiti senza spalline in paillettes, con maniche a sbuffo, con frange e piume. I toni di tabacco e Havana ricordano il Picasso cubano, Wifredo Lam. I neri e i bianchi sono ombrosi, nuvolosi, fumosi.

Gli atelier hanno creato meraviglie: la “vegetazione tropicale” in ricamo è follemente raffinata: grandi foglie di Monstera Deliciosa  tra due strati di tulle per un effetto a rilievo e gli uccelli del paradiso su abito lungo e bolero insieme all’uso dell’ croquet beige sono stupefacenti nella loro semplicità.

E per finire l’intramontabile Panama e il basco nero ad inneggiare in maniera irriverente tra le paillettes al “Commander” Che Guevara!

In sintonia con questa collezione selvaggiamente spirituale, gli infradito in tessuto, i sandali indossati sopra uno sfacciato calzino, zaini a maglia, , e, naturalmente, la “scatola di sigari” ad intreccio trasformata in una minibag, un cenno al Cocohiba …

The palette is inspired by the vibrant baroque facades of the old town: yellow, pink, orange, turquoise, bright green burst and sparkle over the marvellous sequined and embroidered short little dresses, the chasuble-dresses in coral orange embroidered tweed. The same chromatic affirmation goes for the strapless dresses in sequins, with puffed sleeves, with fringes and feathers. The tobacco and Havana tones are reminiscent of the Cuban Picasso, Wifredo Lam. The blacks and the whites are shadowy, cloudy, smoky.

The ateliers have created wonders: the “tropical vegetation” embroideries are insanely refined: great leaves of Monstera Deliciosa caught between two layers of tulle for a subtle relief effect, a quasi-abstract “cigar” motif, birds of paradise on a long dress and bolero ensemble in beige crochet is stunning in its simplicity.

And always finished with a Panama hat, apart from the occasional sequinned black beret irreverently evoking “Commander” Che Guevara!

In tune with this wildly spiritual collection, woven flip-flops, caged sandals worn over cheeky ankle socks, crocheted backpacks, soft bundle bags with multi-coloured local snail patterns, and of course the “cigar box” reticule, a nod to the Cocohiba…
