Ghitta Laskrouif Style

La possibilità di incontrare (anche se virtualmente) nuovi designer da tutto il mondo è quello che ci piace qui a Zoe, avere la possibilità di guardare lo stile e la moda proposta da paesi che normalmente non sono al centro del cosiddetto “fashion world” è interessante e ci permette di guardare il mondo attraverso lo stile e gli occhi di un designer.

Vi presentiamo Ghitta.

Mi chiamo Ghitta Laskrouif, ho 29 anni e sono una designer marocchina che vive a Casablanxa, quello che cerco di fare con il mio lavoro è cambiare la percezione e le impressioni che si hanno sui paesi del nord Africa attraverso la moda.

Dopo aver studiato arte e fashion design, ho iniziato a lavorare come designer, il mio stile può essere definito contemporaneo+handmade e restyled clothing. Mi piace mescolare la maglia e capi upcycled, lo scopo di questa linea di re-fashion è quello di valorizzare e comunicare l’eredità e l’amore per ogni capo riciclato e ogni capo handmade della collezione.

Per me la moda è più dei vestiti che indossiamo…è una storia, una esperienza di vita.

Oltre alla moda mi piace scattare foto con il mio o iPhone (sono una phoneographer e membro del collettivo tiitswi), mi piace catturare dettagli della mia vita di tutti i giorni, magari in seguito diventeranno parte del mio processo creativo, quei dettagli potranno diventare il centro di una fantasia. Le mie foto sono anche un modo per diffondere una vision a moderna del Marocco perché immortalare piccoli dettagli o cose di poco conto può facilitare la comprensione della foto più grande, che è quella del mio paese.

What we love here at Zoe magazine is having the chance of meeting (even if its a digital meeting) new designers coming from all over the world, having the chance to see the style and fashion of countries that usually are not at the centre of the so called “fashion world”, it’s interesting and it let us see the world trough the style and the eyes of a designer.

We’d like to introduce you to Ghitta.

My name is Ghitta Laskrouif 29 years old, i’m a Moroccan designer based in Casablanca; struggling to  change perceptions of the North African country through fashion. After studying fine arts and fashion design, i began my career as a contemporary fashion designer; my style is a contemporary handmade and restyled clothing that combines crochet knitting and upcycled products, the aim of this  re-fashion line is to value and communicate the heritage and love of each recycled design or handmade item of the collection.

With a belief that fashion is more than a clothing we wear…it is a story, a life experience.

I’m a phoneographer and ( member of tiitswi collective ) I love to take daily details that shape my fashion work process,  exploring details that can be converted into patterns, a new way to share a modern vision of Morocco, because capturing  small details and minimal things can enhance the  understanding of the bigger picture .
