Cinquemila anni fa durante il Neolitico, i cinesi già sperimentavano tecniche per polverizzare pietre e altri materiali per imprimere/tracciare segni grafici o testi a quelli che sarebbero venuti dopo di loro. La ink stone è apparsa per la prima volta durante il periodo Warring.

Shiatzy Chen presenta una collezione fall/winter 2014 che trae ispirazione da questa ink stone, la sua forma, i materiali e i colori. La collezione segue il ritmo della ink stone, tenendo ben presenti le sue nuance e le loro intensità e luminosità.

La Ink stone è il punto in cui le sfumature del colore iniziano a svanire, in toni più leggeri e chiari, i colori sono come tracce di un sorriso in una rosa. Nei colori più brillanti sono vibranti come peonie. Nei toni più intensi sono misteriosamente profondi come il muschio.

La Ink stone può essere scenografica come un orgoglioso cigno nero, elegante come un paesaggio lacustre, calmo come le montagne fra le nuvole.

Le superfici sono lisce come la seta e scintillanti, mentre strati di polvere metallica brillano.

Ink stone riecheggia i colori delle nostre vite e scrive per noi la vita delle fiabe illustrate, le sfumature delle emozioni sono nell’occhio di chi le possiede.

Ink Stone

Brush, ink, paper and ink stone, known as the “Four Treasures of the Scholar’s Study”, are the elements that passed on Chinese culture and history generations after generations.

As far as five thousand years ago during the Neolithic age, Chinese people already attempted to grind stones or mix materials in order to leave graphic or textural marks for the descendants. The ink stone appeared during the Warring States period.

SHIATZY CHEN FW 2014 Collection finds inspiration from “Ink Stone” – its shape, materials and the colors. The collection follows the rhythm of the ink stone, considers the nuance of its intensity and lightness, feels the subtleties, and marks its presence.

Ink stone is the stage for the color shades to play out. In lighter shades, the colors are like traces of a smile in a budding rose. In bright shades, they are vibrant as peonies. In intense tones, they are deeply mysterious moss.

The ink stone may be as flamboyant as a prideful black swan, as elegant as the lakeside scenery, and as calm as the mountain in the clouds. It may be mysterious as a deep gully or transparent as a shallow pond.

The surfaces are silky smooth and shinny, while layers of metallic grains shimmer along.

Ink stone echoes the colors of our lives and writes for us the life’s illustrative tales. The shades of emotions are in the eyes of the beholder.
