All you have to know about the new Chanel side pack

As a continuation of CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2019 Ready-to-Wear campaign, Karl Lagerfeld is presenting the bags of the season with the models Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, Kris Grikaite, Nora Attal, Vittoria Ceretti and Hyun Ji Shin. The new bag, the side pack, presented at the runway show in October 2018, is at the heart of the images photographed by the designer.

In quilted lambskin, the flap fastened with a metal double C, the side pack is worn in duo, crossing over each hip, introducing a new way of wearing bags. Two straps in chains interlaced with leather, sometimes lengthened with beads, slip either side of the neck in the style of a V-neck. Original, functional and elegant, this new double bag comes in three different sizes and adopts CHANEL’s emblematic colours – black, white and beige – or more vibrant colours such as lemon yellow. Ultra-modern and casually chic, the side pack looks just as good with an iconic tweed jacket and denim trousers, as a suit or an evening gown.

Both an accessory and a piece of jewellery to dress the bust, it inspires a new attitude in tune with the spirit of the Spring-Summer 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection, where the look is defined by a sophisticated elegance and bright colours. These tones are equally enchanting on the bags of the season, like this vibrant pink on a flap bag in quilted terry towelling with a shoulder strap that mischievously slips on like the straps of a backpack.

With this new campaign imbued with a certain freshness, Karl Lagerfeld reminds us that for CHANEL, aesthetics, practicality, freedom of tone and spirit are always one.
