Fashion East is a non-profit initiative that offers emerging young designers an opportunity to present their catwalk collections to the international press and buyers at London Fashion week. This year runner up for womenswear are Charlotte Knowles, Yuhan Wang and Asai.

Charlotte Knowles is a South London-Based brand that was launched by partners Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault in 2017. Both designers graduates from Central Saint Martins MA and create designs for a strong and confident woman, with a focus on refined pieces and intricate details, offering garments with an intimate quality that are at once futuristic and familiar they strive to turn the traditional ideas of femininity. SS19 will be their second season showcasing with the support of Fashion East.

Yuhan Wang trained in womenswear at Central Saint Martins, completing her BA in 2016, followed by her masters showcased during London Fashion Week February 2018. Yuhan’s MA collection explored Asian femininity and its connection to western culture. SS19 will be Yuhan Wang’s debut showcasing with fashion east.

In February 2017 London Born and Based designer A Sai Ta launched his label with the help of Fashion East. In his collections, Asai takes the familiar and reimagines it by entering into nuances of his british-chinese-vietnamese cultural heritage as a second generation Londoner. Often employing surface decorations and fabric manipulation to create intricate textiles, designer takes the craftman’s spirit from his parents – a seamstress mother and a carpenter father. By blending bold color waves to disrupt the familiar visual codes – the Asai Hot tophas already gained a cult status. SS19 will be Asai’s fourth season with the support of Fashion East.
