The ELLERY Resort’19 collection is an exploration of both. Who we are. Who came before. The many people who formed a path, placing us where we are today.

A fusion of different moments and memories, the Resort ’19 collection presents a variety of historical silhouettes – reinvented to embrace the artful signature of the brand. Delicate scarf hemlines sit amongst masculine tailoring and stretch lycra corsetry is constructed sans boning offer comfort to the wearer whilst elongated draped sleeves create drama as they almost skim the floor.

A fresh colour palette of delicate tangerine and lemon tie-dye mixes dynamically with vibrant peach tailoring. A hint of sky blue sits alongside deep rusts and lacquered chocolate browns and, as always, a monochromatic palette of ivory, white and black brings a classic foundation to the collection. Traditional hand craftsmanship is placed alongside technical fabrications and explores the beauty of another era. Gold discs wrapped in fine ropes, chain lattice sheaths embellished with coloured, feathery threads and carefully hand-knotted nets are just a few of the intricate techniques employed this season.

One key look boldly brings together two worlds, a checked brown suit strategically smattered with matte, white metal discs – a technical embellishment made to recreate freckles. Fabrications range from PU coated and satin weave cottons to soft double silk georgettes, brown pinstripe ponte to ivory checked jacquard and fine black lamb leather to creamy, textured crepes. This season ELLERY releases its first branded print – a warped ELLERY logo splashed onto a heritage checked base, an exploration of what heritage too means to the brand.

The jewellery collection is imbued with nostalgia; ornate palm tree chandelier earrings and delicate golden prawns with pearl antennae throw-back to another time. A pleated leather choker is pinched in with a metal clasp forming a rounded-fold effect. Shoes this season are bold and sculptural. Some nod to the 60’s with the slanted-square toe elasticated cowboy boot whilst others feel fitting in the 17th century with their panelled pointy shape and low, round heel. Ultimately this Resort ’19 collection places value on the sentimental. Through exploring the possessions that are passed down through generations it longs to be worn and cherished, again and again. Born out of a memory and now reinvented – it is ready to begin the cycle once more.
