“Karl The Photographer” capsule collection

PARIS, FRANCE (May 15th, 2017) – Karl Lagerfeld is pleased to announce the launch of the Karl the Photographer capsule collection, inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s love of photography. In addition to being a globally-renowned fashion designer and creative director, he is a prominent photographer whose work has been published in many books.

The Karl the Photographer collection of ready-to-wear and accessories features Karl and his cat, Choupette, in self-portraits and playful graphics like photo-booth picture reels, Polaroids and pixelated abstracts. The collection is available at Karl Lagerfeld stores and on KARL.com.

The Karl the Photographer ready-to-wear offering includes a satin bomber jacket, silk blouses, sweatshirts, t-shirts, a silk dress and relaxed fit jeans. Grounded in a palette of black and white, the designs are finished with the brand’s signature details like silver foil and rhinestone appliqués.

Key accessories include two styles of zip-top shoppers with interior pochettes; a leather “camera cross-body” bag with perforated details; a glittery “camera minaudiere”; and a mini leather backpack that doubles as a cross-body bag. Additional pieces range from key-chains and phone covers to a printed silk scarf, a canvas shopper and two styles of pouches.

“Photography is part of my life,” says Karl Lagerfeld. He shoots all advertising campaigns for his namesake fashion house, in addition to numerous others. Besides fashion, he also photographs architecture, art, interior design, beauty and culture. The limited-edition Karl the Photographer capsule is a part of the Karl Lagerfeld prefall 2017 collection.
