Here is the list of all 8 finalists: Yoon Ahn (Ambush), Kozaburo Akasaka (Kozaburo), Cecilie Rosted Bahnsen (Cecilie Bahnsen), Nabil El-Nayal (Nabil Nayal), Molly Goddard, Maria Kazakova (Jahnkoy), Marine Serre, and Antonin Tron (Atlein). In a statement, LVMH vice president Delphine Arnault says: “This year’s selection clearly illustrates the existence of a truly international fashion, beyond borders.”

Co-founded with her musician husband, Verbal, Ambush evolved from the Tokyo-based power couple’s 2002 design company making unisex collections every season. They started in 2008 as an experimental jewelry brand, heavily inspired by pop art and underground nightlife. The brand debuted its first pret-a-porter collection in Paris in 2015 and opened a Tokyo flagship store in September 2016. They have collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Sacai, Undercover, and Maison Kitsuné.

Now in its fourth edition, the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, has seen the record-breaking – 1,200-plus applications from all over the world. To facilitate this huge drive, the prize committee enlisted a 40-strong panel of experts and jurors. In the coming months, the finalists will present their work to global editors, business leaders and designers to determine who takes home the 300,000-euro prize. The winner will be announced on 16th June at the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
